VISIT TO TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK
The tour through the canals of Tortuguero National Park is one of the highlights of your trip.
Accompanied by a naturalist guide and a local boatman, you'll have the opportunity to observe the wide variety of species that inhabit the park, including three species of monkeys, more than 400 species of birds, and numerous reptiles and amphibians such as iguanas, crocodiles, caimans, and turtles, as well as a significant diversity of mammals.
The tour takes place by boat in the early morning and lasts approximately two hours, ideal for appreciating the wildlife in all its splendor.
TORTUGUERO VILLAGE VISIT
A visit to the village of Tortuguero offers a glimpse into the lifestyle, customs, and history of this Caribbean community.
The tour explores its past, from ancient Indigenous and Afro-Caribbean settlements to the development of the lumber mill in the mid-20th century and the present day, where sustainable tourism plays a key role in nature conservation.
The walk includes visits to schools, the National Park offices, churches, local shops, and the recycling plant.
The tour begins at Laguna Lodge, with a boat transfer to the village, and continues on foot with a naturalist guide.

NATURE AWAKENING TOUR
Dawn in the rainforest marks one of the most special times to observe wildlife in all its splendor. With the first rays of sunlight, nature awakens, offering a unique opportunity to appreciate a wide variety of fauna.
The morning calls of the animals, the gentle whisper of the wind, and the magical atmosphere of the day's beginning create an unforgettable experience in the heart of the tropical forest.
This tour consists of a peaceful boat ride through the canals of Tortuguero National Park. It begins between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. and lasts approximately two hours, ideal for fully connecting with nature in its purest form.
SEA TURTLE NESTING TOUR
The nighttime walk to observe the sea turtles nesting is one of the most impressive and memorable experiences in Tortuguero.
Tortuguero National Park is the most important nesting site for the Green Sea Turtle (Chelonia mydas) on the country's Caribbean coast. In addition, four species of sea turtles come to its beaches to lay their eggs, making this place a natural setting of extraordinary ecological importance.
The walk is conducted exclusively during the nesting season, from July 1st to October 31st, and allows for respectful and guided observation of the nesting process.
HATCHING SEASON BEACH WALK

Guided by a certified guide, the tour takes place at sunset, the ideal time to observe this event, which occurs between September and November.

KAYAK TOUR

TORTUGUERO HILL WALK
At 119 meters above sea level, Cerro de Tortuguero is the highest point in the Caribbean region and is distinguished by its breathtaking landscape, being the only visible prominence for dozens of kilometers around.
This hill is covered in lush vegetation and is home to diverse species of mammals, reptiles, and birds, making it a natural attraction of great ecological value.
During the tour, you will enjoy nature trails and the ascent to the highest point, from where you will be rewarded with unique views of the region. The tour lasts approximately two hours.
JAGUAR TRAIL
The Jaguar Trail in Tortuguero National Park is one of the most iconic and fascinating hikes in the Costa Rican Caribbean.
This trail winds through a dense primary forest, where the vegetation is lush and the biodiversity surprises at every turn. Along the way, it's common to see howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, sloths, iguanas, and a wide variety of tropical birds.
